Sunday May 3, 2006

It's a beautiful day in Minneapolis.
I have just returned from transplanting the tomato plantsfrom our Window tomato nursery into planter boxes at Eide saw, their home for the summer. We are hoping for a good crop this year with the experience of last year behind us.
I have rigged up a better sytem to support the plants as they grow and begin to bear the load of tomatoes. We also learned to be careful about the kind of fertilizer we will use.  Last year we had a good crop , however many good sized tomatoes were tossed due to "Blosom End Disease".

It has been a good week healthwize, The catheter has been removewd with no after affect or problems and Doris is almost back to her normal self.
We are thankful.
She and I have appointments with the Knee MD in a couple of weeks. Nothing serious, just aging of the knee bones and the brain. We need to know if we should rewst the knees more, excersize them more or in a better way or just be careful of those long up and down stairs.
Stay tuned for more Knee Knews.
Brother John, is presently recovering from his third or fourt try at repair his stiff knee. He is in good care at the Mayo in Phoenix. The complicated surgery laster 9 hours and his wife Lynn report success, although they wont know for a while.
We are hoping this will get him back on two feet and two knees. He has had much trouble since injuring the knee by helping a freind to move who baked into him.

Grandaughter Dawn, was the guest today at Brother Craig's home for a bridal shower today. Grandmother Doris has just returned home. Sat right down in her chair and promply fell asleep. I guess the shower was a success but failed to get the details.

Had lunch last Wednesday with Jill, Jeff and his wife Bridget. We had a great visit. All are still working, some reduced pay and hours but still working during this uncertain time.

Had a call yesterday from Nancy and Larry Browers, our RV club freinds and former farmers. They have returned to the farm in Mason City and re planing on the summer at Pine River in their new log home. Was nice to hear from them. Them.
Hope all of you out there are A-OK.
Thanks for your calls and letters, we do appreciate.
